How the Racism started

It all started with slavery. Africans were sold into slavery to work for the white man. When slavery ended America decided to make segregation to keep the blacks away from the whites. Segregation caused a lot of problems we have today. Segregation also widen the gap between rich and poor. Populations of minorities, such as African Americans, live mainly in inner city areas. Inner cities have far fewer resources, such as hospitals, schools and even grocery stores than urban areas. Crime and gangs start to come in segregated areas; as poor areas got less police patrol. Segregation produces differences in linguistics and culture, which serves as a psychological barrier between majority and minority populations. Which caused blacks and whites not to be as connected and they did not have all the equalized rights they were promised which made them have to work harder. Now that black people have all these problems on their hands people start to become skeptical of them and they feel like they need to watch and controlled.
